What is creativity?
The dictionary defines it as the use of the imagination or original ideas, especially in the production of art.
Creativity isn’t always easy, even for those who are already considered creative or artistic. I believe that it’s mostly a false belief when people say they aren’t creative.
Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up. – Pablo Picasso
I struggled for years with using my creativity consistently in a way that I felt was worthy to call myself an artist. I understand that it was my own false beliefs that kept me from growing as an artist and accepting that part of me which screamed for it. It was denied because I felt that I should pursue other paths. Something more traditional or respectable to people who did not understand what it means to be an artist.
I finally realized that creativity is my passion. I really don’t care what the medium is, as long as it is enjoyable and doesn’t physically or psychologically hurt anyone, then I say you should allow yourself to explore your imagination and share your creativity with the world, if you are so inclined.
It’s my desire to help others when I can and who are ready for it. Either leading by example, by being a cheerleader, or offering advice when you ask, I’m happy to share with you the knowledge I have which I believe may help.
This blog is dedicated to the inspiration and exploration of creativity.
